Ghost of the New Haven
New Haven 3025 never existed, yet here she is traveling southbound along the Connecticut Valley line towards Essex, CT. 3025 is the creation of the Valley Railroad, which remodeled a Chinese SY 2-8-2 built in 1989 into a reasonable facsimile of a USRA Light Mikado as seen on the New Haven in the form of their J-1 Class.
The 3025 emerged from the Valley Railroad shops in 2011, about about 95 years after its predecessor sisters came off the Alco assembly line in Schenectady, NY.
She is seen here on a photo freight in May 2012.
