Black Mesa and Lake Powell
The BM&LP is an isolated 78 mile private railroad in Arizona which exists to transport coal from a mine to the large coal-fired power plant in Page, AZ by the shores of Lake Powell.
Opened in 1973, the line is electrified using the power from its only customer. Three unit trains are typically operated each day, using second-hand General Electric E60 locomotives acquired from the former National Railroad of Mexico (N de M).
This train is poised at the coal load-out ready for another shuttle trip to the power plant.
