Long Island Interchange
Conrail's interchange run from Oak Point Yard in the Bronx to the Long Island's Fresh Point yard in Queens has made its delivery and is now on the way back to the mainland with the empties. In this view from the walkway of the Tri-Boro (now RFK) Bridge, the train is just about to crest the climb and enter the magnificent Hell Gate Bridge, which back in 1977 was sorely in need of a paint job.
The wires are for Amtrak Northeast Corridor trains between Boston and New York.
