Hunter St. (PA Route 93) crosses the Reading and Northern on a high fill, and the railroad's passage beneath the highway is a cross between an underpass and a tunnel. R&N 4-6-2 #425, the "Four-and-a Quarter" is barking loudly upgrade out of Jim Thorpe PA, nestled deep in the valley of the Lehigh River. There's an SD50 behind her tender to lend a hand, but the 425 is doing most of the work...or at least it sounds that way. Her exhaust bouncing off the tunnel roof is enough to stir the leaves at trackside.
The entire train is visible here including the big full length dome towards the rear. Next stop will be the R&N's yard complex at Port Clinton, PA before the autumn leaf-peeper excursion ends in Reading, PA.
