The GO Transit system in Toronto recently celebrated its 50th birthday. From a modest start of one train per day, GO Transit has evolved into a large network of suburban trains and buses serving some 65 million riders per year.
In this photo, a number of GO Transit trains featuring late-model commuter locomotives and cars are seen resting after the morning inbound run on the approach to Toronto Union Station. Our viewpoint is in the forward seat of a dome car on the inbound Canadian, running off the final mile of its long journey from Vancouver.
