All in the Family
There quite a resemblance between these two steamers, both originally from the Canadian National and built in the early years of the last century. Today both are mainstays of the Strasburg Railroad in Pennsylvania.
0-6-0 #7312 is "in the hole" at Goffs Grove, midway along the 4-1/2 mile as 2-6-0 #89 holds the main with a photo freight. Judging from the way the white flags are flying there's a pretty stiff crosswind this afternoon
In normal operation, the 7312 simply carries the number "31". She was the first steamer on the Strasburg when it began excursion service and was the first operating steam locomotive I ever saw when my parents took me down there soon thereafter in 1963 or 1964.
