On a hot August afternoon in 1971, an Erie Lackawanna Port Jervis train eases around the curve into its next stop at Ho-Ho-Kus NJ. Behind the pair of handsome E-8's is a long string of ancient Stillwell coaches (with no air conditioning).
Still, what I wouldn't give today to be aboard for the ride. Those E-8's sure sounded great accelerating the train out of the station.
