The First Heritage Unit?
From the open dutch door (don't tell the conductor!) of the southbound Southern Crescent we encounter Amtrak GG1 4935, which in the twilight of its long career has been repainted into its "as delivered" PRR "cat whiskers" paint scheme. As far as I know this was the first example of painting an operating mainline locomotive in an obsolete or "fallen flag" paint scheme.
Not quite sure of the location, but the best guess is somewhere in the Newark, Delaware vicinity. Looks like there is a classic parlor car or private car on the tail end behind the Amfleets.
The year is 1978 and I'm on my way to Atlanta.
