In a welcome sight for the commuters waiting on the platform at Ramsey, NJ, an inbound train nears the platform. Following New Jersey Transit's normal practice, the unmanned locomotive is at the north end of the train pushing it towards its destination under the command of the engineer in the cab car at the front. By keeping the locomotive on the outbound end, the commuters' walk is minimized at the stub end terminal in Hoboken and they also don't have to walk past the rather loud locomotive which even at rest is working hard to provide electrical power to the train.
Not very photogenic but highly efficient.
